The efoil, short for "electric foil" (in Italian "electric hydrofoil"), is a board similar to a surfboard that is attached to a submarine wing and propelled by an electric motor. The submarine wing, also called a "foil", creates lift when pushed down by moving water. This lift lifts the efoil above the water's surface, allowing the user to sail without friction.
The efoil is equipped with an electric motor powered by a rechargeable battery. Electrical energy is transmitted to the motor, which powers a propeller or water jet propeller under the submarine wing. The user controls the speed and direction of the efoil via a wireless remote or hand controller. By leaning the body forward or backward and shifting the weight from side to side, the user can control the pitch of the underwater wing, thus adjusting the height and stability of the efoil on the water.
Thanks to its electric motor, it is silent and produces no harmful emissions, offering an ecological experience. Furthermore, being powered by a rechargeable battery, the efoil has an autonomy that can vary from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the model and conditions of use.
